Getting There

Walking
From the center of Cetinje, head towards the main square (Trg Marka Miljanova). Once you reach the square, look for the road leading out towards the direction of the Cetinje Monastery. Continue on this road, which is called Njegoševa Street, for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection. At the intersection, take a right onto the road that leads towards the town of Špiljari. After walking for approximately 500 meters, you will see signs for the St. Ivan Fortress. Follow the signs and take the trail that leads up the hill to the fortress. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes, and be sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one in Cetinje. Start at the main square (Trg Marka Miljanova) and ride towards Njegoševa Street, heading toward the Cetinje Monastery. Continue along Njegoševa Street for about 1 kilometer. When you reach the intersection, turn right towards Špiljari. After about 500 meters, look for the signs directing you to the St. Ivan Fortress. The ride should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. The path may be steep, so be prepared for some uphill riding!
