Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Podgorica, head to the main bus station, which is located at the corner of Bulevar Svetog Petra Cetinjskog and Kralja Nikole. You can take bus number 21 towards Kotor. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kotor bus station, exit the bus and walk towards the old town, which is a short 10-minute walk. As you approach the old town, you will see the River Gate (North Gate) at the entrance of the fortified city walls.

• Train

  From Podgorica, make your way to the Podgorica Train Station located at the end of Ulica Rista Stijovića. You can take a local bus or taxi to get there. Once at the train station, take a train towards Bar, and get off at Kotor station. The train ride will take about 2 hours. After disembarking, take a local bus or walk to the old town, which is about a 15-minute walk away. The River Gate (North Gate) will be visible as you approach the old town.

• Walking

  If you are already within walking distance of the Kotor area, start from the Kotor waterfront. Head towards the Old Town entrance, and as you enter, keep left until you reach the River Gate (North Gate). This iconic landmark is easily accessible and is located just inside the fortifications of the old town.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Podgorica to Kotor. You can find taxis readily available in the city center. Inform the driver that you want to go to the River Gate (North Gate) in Kotor. The journey takes about 1 hour and is a convenient option if you are traveling with luggage or prefer not to use public transport.
