Getting There

    From the city center of Podgorica, head towards the main pedestrian street, Njegoševa Street. Walk along Njegoševa until you reach the intersection with Bokeška Street. Turn left onto Bokeška and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Džordža Vašingtona Street. Turn right onto Džordža Vašingtona and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the river Morača. Cross the bridge over the river and continue straight. After crossing the bridge, you will see signs for 'St. John Fortress' pointing towards the right. Follow the signs, and you will reach the foot of the hill leading up to the fortress. The path may be steep, so take your time as you ascend.

    From the main bus station in Podgorica, take bus number 2 or 3 heading towards the direction of the river. Get off at the 'Stari Grad' bus stop. Once you exit the bus, walk straight towards the river Morača. Cross the bridge and follow the signs for 'St. John Fortress.' After crossing the bridge, you will find a path that leads up to the fortress. Please note that it is a bit of a climb, so wear comfortable shoes.
