Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the central square, Place El-Hedim, head east towards the Medina. Walk through the main entrance of the Medina, known as Bab Mansour. Once you enter, continue straight along the main street called Avenue Moulay Ismail, which is lined with shops and cafes. After about 10 minutes of walking, you will reach a small intersection. At this point, turn left onto Rue de la Médina. Continue straight for about 5 minutes, and you will find Madrasa Bou Inania on your right, just off Rue de la Médina. Look for the large wooden door, which is the entrance to the Madrasa.

    If you are near the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, exit the mausoleum and turn left onto Avenue des Forces Armées Royales. Walk straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Avenue Moulay Ismail. Turn right onto Avenue Moulay Ismail and follow it as it curves. After a few minutes, you will arrive at the main entrance of the Medina. Once inside, follow the previous directions to reach Madrasa Bou Inania.

    From the train station in Meknes, exit the station and turn left onto Avenue de la Libération. Continue walking straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Avenue Moulay Ismail. Walk along this road until you reach the entrance to the Medina (Bab Mansour). Once inside the Medina, follow the main street, Avenue Moulay Ismail, and turn left onto Rue de la Médina. Continue until you see the Madrasa Bou Inania on your right.
