    If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Golden Rock. Head south on the main road, following the signs toward Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the Kyaiktiyo junction. From there, you will need to enter the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda area. Please note that there is an entrance fee of around 10,000 MMK for foreign visitors. After paying the fee, continue driving for another 15 minutes until you reach the designated parking area. From the parking area, you will need to take a truck taxi (around 1,000 MMK) to reach the pagoda itself. This ride takes about 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the walkway to Mahar Thakya Thiha Pagoda, which is well-marked.

  • Public Transportation

    For public transportation, find a local bus or shared taxi that goes to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda. Depending on your location in Golden Rock, this could take about 1 hour. The bus fare is usually around 3,000 MMK per person. Upon arriving at the Kyaiktiyo junction, you will need to pay the 10,000 MMK entrance fee. After that, take a truck taxi from the junction to the parking area, which costs around 1,000 MMK. The truck will drop you off near the pagoda entrance, from which you can walk to Mahar Thakya Thiha Pagoda, following the signs along the path.
