Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from Kathmandu. Drive towards Jiri or take a bus to Jiri, which is about a 7-8 hour journey. From Jiri, you need to take a jeep or a local bus to Salleri, which takes about 3 hours. After reaching Salleri, you can trek to Everest Base Camp, following the traditional route through Phaplu, Nunthala, and other villages.

Public Transportation

From Kathmandu, take a tourist bus to Jiri. This bus ride is approximately 7-8 hours long. Once you reach Jiri, you can catch a local bus or hire a jeep to Salleri, which will take around 3 hours. After arriving in Salleri, begin your trek towards Everest Base Camp, passing through several villages and enjoying the scenic landscapes.

Trekking

Once at Salleri, you will begin your trek towards Everest Base Camp. The trek typically takes about 12-14 days to complete, with stops at various villages such as Phaplu, Nunthala, Bupsa, and Namche Bazaar before reaching the base camp. Make sure to carry sufficient supplies, including food, water, and trekking gear, as some areas may have limited access to resources.

Helicopter

For a quicker route, consider booking a helicopter ride from Kathmandu directly to Everest Base Camp. This option is more expensive, typically costing around $1,000 to $3,000 per person depending on the season and demand.
