Getting There

Walking
From the center of Nagarkot, head south towards the main road. Walk along the road until you reach the junction at the base of the hill. Turn right and follow the road downhill, keeping an eye out for the signs pointing towards Kathmandu. Continue walking for approximately 20-30 minutes until you reach the bus stop. Here, you can catch a local bus to Kathmandu. The bus ride will take about an hour.

Trekking
For the adventurous, you can trek down from Nagarkot to Bhaktapur first. Start by heading west through the trails that lead to the forest area. Follow the trails which are well-marked and scenic, taking you through local villages and beautiful landscapes. After about 2-3 hours of trekking, you will arrive in Bhaktapur. From Bhaktapur, you can easily catch a local bus to Kathmandu. The bus journey from Bhaktapur to Kathmandu takes around 30-40 minutes.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Nagarkot. Start by riding down towards the main road. Once on the main road, you can cycle towards Kathmandu.
