Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the centre of Nagarkot, head towards the main road leading to Kathmandu. Keep walking straight until you reach the junction where you see signs pointing towards Bhaktapur and Kathmandu. Continue following the road for about 500 meters until you reach a bus stop. From there, take a local bus or a microbus bound for Kathmandu. Inform the driver to drop you off at J P Marg in Thamel, Kathmandu.

    From your accommodation in Nagarkot, walk to the nearest bus stop. Look for a bus heading towards Kathmandu. The ride will take around 30 minutes. Get off at the bus terminal in Kathmandu, then look for a taxi or a rickshaw. Instruct the driver to take you to J P Marg, which is located in the Thamel area of Kathmandu. The drive should take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Hiking

    For the adventurous, you can hike from Nagarkot to Kathmandu. Start your hike early in the morning to enjoy the views. Follow the trail leading down from Nagarkot, which eventually connects to the main road. Once you reach the main road, walk along it towards Kathmandu. It will take approximately 4-5 hours to reach the Thamel area, where J P Marg is located. Make sure to stay hydrated and wear good hiking shoes.
