Getting There

  • Car

    From Volendam, start by heading south on the N507 road towards Edam. After approximately 5 km, merge onto the N244 towards Purmerend. Follow the N244 for about 10 km until you reach the A7 motorway entrance. Merge onto the A7 motorway heading towards Almere. Stay on the A7 for about 15 km, then take exit 3 to merge onto the A6 towards Almere. Continue on the A6 for about 15 km, then take exit 12 for Almere-Stad. Follow the signs to Oostvaardersplassen, which is about a 10-minute drive from the exit.

  • Public Transportation

    From Volendam, take bus line 110 towards Amsterdam. Get off at Purmerend, Busstation (about 20 minutes). From Purmerend, transfer to train line Intercity to Almere Centrum (approximately 25 minutes). Once at Almere Centrum, take bus line 6 towards Almere Poort and get off at the stop 'Oostvaardersplassen'. The total journey takes about an hour and a half, and you may need to check the current bus and train schedules for exact times.
