Getting There

Car
From Zaanse Schans, head south on Zaanse Schans Road (N203) towards the A8 motorway. Merge onto the A8 towards Amsterdam. Continue for about 15 km, then take the exit toward S100. Follow signs for Amsterdam-Centrum, and continue on the S100. Once in Amsterdam, follow signs to Dam Square. You will find parking options nearby, but be aware that parking fees can be high, typically around €5 per hour.

Start at the Zaanse Schans train station. Take a train towards Amsterdam Central Station (CS). The journey takes approximately 17 minutes. Upon arrival at Amsterdam Central Station, exit the station and follow the signs to the main exit. From there, it’s a 10-15 minute walk to Dam Square. Simply head straight down Damrak, which will lead you directly to the square.
