Car
If you are driving from the center of North Conway, take NH-16 North towards Pinkham Notch. Continue on NH-16 for approximately 11 miles until you reach the junction with NH-302. Take a left on NH-302 and drive for about 6 miles. You will then come to the base of Mount Washington Auto Road. Follow the Auto Road for about 7 miles until you reach Tip Top House, located at the summit. Note that there is a fee to drive up the Auto Road, which is typically around $30 for a standard vehicle.
Public Transportation
Start by taking the Concord Coach Lines bus from Boston or Manchester to North Conway. Once in North Conway, you can use local taxi services or ride-sharing apps to get to the base of Mount Washington Auto Road. From there, you will need to drive yourself or arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to take you up the Auto Road to Tip Top House. Be aware that public transportation options to the summit are limited, so check ahead for any shuttle services specific to the season.
Hiking
For the adventurous, you can park at the base of Mount Washington Auto Road and hike up to Tip Top House. The hike is strenuous and can take several hours, so be sure to check weather conditions and bring proper gear. The Tuckerman Ravine Trail is a popular route. Make sure to have an early start and sufficient supplies, as hiking routes can be challenging.
