Getting There

  • Car

    From High Point State Park, head southwest on Route 23. Follow Route 23 for approximately 18 miles until you reach the junction with Route 287 South. Merge onto Route 287 South and continue for 5 miles. Take exit 14B to merge onto Route 78 East. Follow Route 78 East for about 20 miles. Then, take exit 29 for Route 35 South. Stay on Route 35 South, following the signs toward Asbury Park. After about 10 miles, take the exit toward Asbury Park. Continue straight onto Main Street, then turn right onto Ocean Avenue. The Asbury Park Boardwalk will be on your right at 1300 Ocean Ave N.

    From High Point State Park, the nearest train station is in Newton. Drive or take a taxi to Newton Station (about 30 minutes). At Newton Station, take the NJ Transit train on the Morristown Line to Hoboken. In Hoboken, transfer to the PATH train to go to Jersey City. From Jersey City, take the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Line train toward Long Branch. Get off at the Asbury Park Station. From the Asbury Park Station, you can walk about 15 minutes or take a local taxi to reach the Boardwalk at 1300 Ocean Ave N.
