Car
From the center of Jemez Springs, head southeast on NM-4 N (East Jemez Road) for about 10 miles. Continue straight onto NM-4 until you reach the junction with NM-502. Turn right onto NM-502, and follow it for another 9 miles until you reach the town of Los Alamos. The entrance to Santa Fe National Forest is located just outside of Los Alamos. Look for signs for the forest as you approach the city.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, check for the 'Blue Bus' service that connects Jemez Springs to Los Alamos. You will need to take the bus from Jemez Springs to the Los Alamos Transfer Station. Be sure to check the schedule in advance, as it may not run frequently. Once in Los Alamos, you can either walk or take a taxi to reach the entrance of Santa Fe National Forest, which is a short distance from the Transfer Station.

Walking
If you find yourself in Los Alamos and prefer to walk, the entrance to Santa Fe National Forest is approximately 1.5 miles from the center of town. Head south on Diamond Drive, then turn right onto Canyon Road. Follow Canyon Road until you reach the entrance to the national forest. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the walk includes some inclines.
