    Start at the Las Cruces Downtown Transit Center located at 300 W Picacho Ave, Las Cruces, NM. From there, take the RoadRUNNER Transit bus Route 1 towards the Mesilla Valley Mall. Get off at the stop at the intersection of Picacho Ave and Solano Dr. Transfer to Route 3 towards East Lohman Ave. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Lohman Ave and Main St. Walk north on Main St until you reach the intersection with E. University Ave. Turn right onto E. University Ave and follow it until you reach the intersection with Fort Selden Rd. Continue straight onto Fort Selden Rd, and you will arrive at Fort Selden Historic Site, which is about a 1-mile walk from the bus stop.

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Las Cruces. Start at the Las Cruces Bike Path located near the downtown area. Head north on the bike path, which will connect you to University Ave. Once on University Ave, turn east and follow it until you reach the intersection with Fort Selden Rd. Turn north onto Fort Selden Rd, which will take you directly to Fort Selden Historic Site. The total distance is approximately 8 miles and should take about 30 minutes of cycling.
