Start from the center of Ruidoso at the intersection of Sudderth Drive and Mechem Drive. Head south on Mechem Drive until you reach the entrance to the Lincoln National Forest at NM-48. From there, look for the trailhead for the Monjeau Lookout Trail, which is located just off the road. The trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and is moderately steep. Follow the marked trail signs all the way to the lookout. Once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

If you have a bicycle, start at the Ruidoso Village Hall on Sudderth Drive. Ride south on Mechem Drive, then turn left onto NM-48. Continue on NM-48 for about 2 miles until you reach the Lincoln National Forest entrance. Here, you can lock your bike at the trailhead and proceed on foot. The Monjeau Lookout Trail is about 1.5 miles each way and offers a scenic ride to the lookout point.
