Car
From Shiprock, head northeast on US-491 N. Continue for about 45 miles until you reach the junction with US-160. Take a left to merge onto US-160 E towards Cortez. Continue on US-160 for about 20 miles until you see signs for Mesa Verde National Park. Turn right onto CO-149 S, and follow the signs to the park entrance. After entering the park, follow the park road until you reach the Soda Canyon Overlook South.

From Shiprock, take the local public bus or a shuttle service heading towards Cortez. The nearest bus terminal is located at the Shiprock Town Hall. After approximately 1.5 hours, you will arrive in Cortez. From the Cortez bus station, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you to the entrance of Mesa Verde National Park. Once at the park entrance, follow the signs to Soda Canyon Overlook South.
