Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Lake Placid. Head south on NY-73 for approximately 20 miles until you reach the junction with NY-9N. Turn left onto NY-9N and continue for about 10 miles. You will then merge onto NY-9. Follow NY-9 for approximately 7 miles until you reach the town of Pottersville. In Pottersville, take a right onto Stone Bridge Road. The Natural Stone Bridge & Caves will be on your right at 535 Stone Bridge Rd, Pottersville, NY 12860. There is a parking lot available on-site.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, you can take a bus from Lake Placid to the town of Pottersville. Check the local bus schedules for availability. Once you arrive in Pottersville, you will likely need a taxi or rideshare service to reach Natural Stone Bridge & Caves, as public transportation does not provide a direct route to the site. The distance from Pottersville to the caves is about 2 miles, and taxis can usually be found near bus stops or called in advance.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer biking, from Lake Placid, take NY-73 south and then follow NY-9N to Pottersville. It is about 30 miles and may take several hours depending on your speed. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic laws. Once in Pottersville, you can bike to Stone Bridge Road. Please note that the roads can be steep and winding, so be prepared for a workout.

• Walking

  Walking to Natural Stone Bridge & Caves is not practical due to the distance from surrounding towns. If you are staying nearby, consider walking from local accommodations or campsites in Pottersville, but be aware that the area may not have sidewalks and walking along the road can be unsafe. Always prioritize safety and consider alternative transportation methods.
