Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Fire Island National Seashore, start by navigating to the town of Bay Shore, NY. From the Southern State Parkway, take Exit 44S toward Bay Shore. Follow the road signs to Route 27 (Sunrise Highway) and continue heading east. Once you reach Bay Shore, look for the parking area at the Bay Shore Ferry terminal. There is a parking fee, so be sure to bring cash or a credit card. After parking, you’ll need to take the ferry to Fire Island. The ferry ride typically takes about 30 minutes and offers beautiful views of the bay. Make sure to check the ferry schedule in advance as it operates on a seasonal schedule.
