Getting There

    If you are driving, start from the town center of New Paltz, NY. Head east on Route 299 toward US-44/NY-55. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto US-44/NY-55 and continue for about 10 miles. You will pass through the scenic areas of the Hudson Valley. Keep an eye out for the signs directing you to Minnewaska State Park Preserve. The entrance to the park will be on your right at 5281 Route 44-55, Kerhonkson, NY 12446. There is a parking fee of $10 per vehicle, which you will need to pay upon entry.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, take the Trailways Bus from New York City to New Paltz (approximately a 2-hour ride). From the bus station in New Paltz, you can catch the Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) bus #7, which runs to the park on weekends only. Make sure to check the schedule in advance as service may vary. The bus will drop you off near the park entrance, but be prepared to walk about a mile to reach the main visitor area.
