Walking
From the center of Lake Placid, head southeast on Main Street toward Lake Placid Avenue. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-86. Use the crosswalk to safely cross to the other side. After crossing, turn left onto NY-86 and walk for approximately 1 mile. You will pass scenic views of the Adirondack Mountains. Continue until you reach a junction with a sign directing you toward Newcomb. Take a right at the junction to stay on NY-86. Walk for another 10 miles, enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Once you enter Newcomb, look for signs leading to the David Henderson Memorial, which will be located on your right.

Starting from the center of Lake Placid, rent a bicycle from a local shop. Head south on Main Street and continue to NY-86. Follow NY-86 for roughly 10 miles toward Newcomb, following the designated bike lanes where available. Be cautious of traffic and enjoy the ride through the beautiful landscapes. When you reach Newcomb, watch for signs directing you to the David Henderson Memorial, which will be on your right.
