Car
If you're traveling by car, start from any location within the Leatherstocking Region and follow the signs to I-88 E. Merge onto I-88 E and continue for about 40 miles. Take exit 25 for I-90 E toward Albany and merge onto I-90 E. After about 90 miles, take exit 9 for I-87 S toward New York City. Continue on I-87 S for approximately 130 miles. As you approach New York City, follow signs for the George Washington Bridge and merge onto I-95 S. Take exit 18 for the Henry Hudson Parkway and continue south. Exit onto 72nd St. and turn left onto Central Park West. Enter Central Park and drive towards Bethesda Terrace, which is located near the middle of the park. There is limited parking available near the terrace; be prepared to pay for parking, which can range from $3 to $7 per hour.

Public Transportation
For public transportation, begin at any major bus or train station within the Leatherstocking Region. Take a bus or train to New York City. If taking a train, the Amtrak service to Penn Station is a good option. From Penn Station, you can take the subway: catch the 1 train from 34th St. - Penn Station heading uptown. Get off at 59th St. - Columbus Circle. From there, transfer to the A, B, C, or D trains and get off at 72nd St. station. Walk east through Central Park towards Bethesda Terrace. The total cost for the train fare is approximately $15 one way, and subway fares are $2.75 each ride.
