Getting There

• Train

  If you're starting your journey from New York City, take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) from Penn Station to Riverhead station. The ride will take approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at Riverhead station, exit and walk to the bus stop located directly outside the station. Take the Suffolk County Transit bus route S92 towards the Riverhead Terminal. Get off at the stop at E Main St and Peconic Ave. From there, it’s a short walk to Long Island Aquarium, located at 431 E Main St. Follow E Main St towards the east, and you will see the aquarium on your left.

• Bus

  If you are in the vicinity of Patchogue, you can take the Suffolk County Transit bus route S40 towards Riverhead. Stay on the bus until you reach the Riverhead Terminal. From the terminal, transfer to the S92 bus towards Riverhead Station. Get off at E Main St and Peconic Ave. Walk east on E Main St, and you will find Long Island Aquarium at 431 E Main St.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, if you are in nearby towns like Southampton or Westhampton Beach, you can bike along local roads leading to Riverhead. The most direct route will take you along County Road 51 and then merge onto E Main St. It’s about a 10-mile ride from Southampton. Once you reach Riverhead, continue on E Main St until you reach the aquarium at 431 E Main St.

• Rideshare

  For a more direct route, consider using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'Long Island Aquarium' or the address '431 E Main St, Riverhead, NY 11901' into the app. The driver will pick you up from your current location and take you directly to the aquarium. This option is especially convenient if you're traveling from nearby towns like Mattituck or Jamesport.
