Car
From Watkins Glen, start by heading west on NY-14 N towards Geneva. Continue on NY-14 N for approximately 16 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-79 W in Ithaca. Turn left onto NY-79 W and follow it for about 2.5 miles. Then, turn right onto E Buttermilk Falls Rd. After approximately 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Buttermilk Falls State Park on your left. Note that there is a parking fee of $8 per vehicle.

Public Transportation
From Watkins Glen, you can take a bus operated by the Finger Lakes Transit. Board the bus heading towards Ithaca. The trip will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Ithaca, you will need to transfer to a local bus that goes towards Buttermilk Falls State Park. The TCAT bus route 11 can take you to the park. Be sure to check the latest schedule and routes on the TCAT website. There may be a fare of around $2.50 for the bus service.
