Start at Aotea Square in Auckland Central, which is a major bus terminal. Look for the bus stop for the bus route 33 towards Botany Town Centre. Once on the bus, enjoy the ride and keep an eye out for stops. After approximately 40 minutes, you will need to disembark at the stop on Hill Road, near the entrance to Auckland Botanic Gardens. From the bus stop, walk 10 minutes along Hill Road, following the signs towards the Botanic Gardens entrance.

Head to the nearest train station, Britomart, located in Auckland Central. Take the Southern Line train towards Papakura. After about 30 minutes, get off at the station called 'Homai'. Once you exit the train, walk about 20 minutes along the roads heading east towards Hill Road. You will arrive at the Auckland Botanic Gardens, where you can follow the signs to the Rock Garden.
