From the Octagon, head northeast on George Street. Walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Moray Place. Turn left onto Moray Place and continue walking for another 5 minutes. Then, turn right onto Great King Street and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Royal Terrace. Turn left onto Royal Terrace. Olveston Historic Home is located at 42 Royal Terrace, which will be on your right.

Catch the bus from the Octagon to the North Dunedin area. You can take bus route 1 or 2, heading towards North Dunedin. Get off at the stop at the intersection of Great King Street and Royal Terrace. From there, walk 5 minutes by heading down Royal Terrace, and you will find Olveston Historic Home at 42 Royal Terrace on your left.
