Walking
If you are starting from the Greymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre located at 164 Mackay Street, exit the building and head south on Mackay Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the main road, State Highway 6. Cross the road and turn left onto State Highway 6. Walk along the footpath for about 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the view of the local shops and cafes. As you approach the Greymouth River, you will see signs directing you towards the Flood Wall. Follow these signs, and after approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will reach the Greymouth Flood Wall, which is located along the riverbank.

Public Transport
From the Greymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Mackay Street. Catch a local bus heading towards the Greymouth River area. The ride will take approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the river (ask the driver for the nearest stop to the Flood Wall). Once you disembark, walk towards the river, and you will see the Flood Wall directly ahead. It's a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

If you have access to a rental bike, start at the Greymouth i-SITE Visitor Centre. Head south on Mackay Street and follow the same route as you would by foot until you reach State Highway 6. Continue to ride along State Highway 6, using the bike lane where available. After about 1.5 kilometers, keep an eye out for signs indicating the Flood Wall. The ride should take roughly 10 minutes, and upon reaching the riverbank, you will find the Greymouth Flood Wall.
