Car
If you are driving, start from the Aoraki/Mount Cook Village. Head onto SH80 (State Highway 80) and follow the signs to Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. Upon arrival at the village, park your car at the designated parking area near the start of the Sealy Tarns Track. The parking area is well marked and usually has enough space for several vehicles. Be mindful that there may be parking fees, so check the local signs for details.

Public Transport
If you are using public transportation, take the InterCity bus from Christchurch to Aoraki/Mount Cook Village. The bus journey takes approximately 4-5 hours. Once you arrive at the village, you can either walk or take a taxi to the start of the Sealy Tarns Track. The walk from the village to the track is about 1.5 km and takes around 20-30 minutes. Again, look for signs directing you to the track.

Hiking
The Sealy Tarns Track starts from the car park and is well marked. The trail is steep and consists of approximately 2.2 km of uphill hiking. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear and carry water and snacks. The hike generally takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the viewpoint, depending on your fitness level. Once you reach the viewpoint, enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Aoraki/Mount Cook area.
