Walking
If you're starting in Tauranga city center, head towards the Tauranga waterfront along The Strand. From there, follow the path along the waterfront, which will lead you towards Mount Maunganui. You will see the Mount in the distance. As you approach, continue along the walkway until you reach the base of Mauao.

From Tauranga city center, catch the Bayhopper bus (Route 2 or Route 3) towards Mount Maunganui. Get off at the stop closest to the Mount Maunganui Main Beach.
