If you are starting from the Timaru city center, head south on Stafford Street towards the intersection with the Cannington Road. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the State Highway 1, also known as the Main South Road. Walk along the road for about 1.5 kilometers. After crossing the railway tracks, turn left onto Craigie Avenue. Continue straight for approximately 500 meters, and you will find Sacred Heart Basilica at 7 Craigie Avenue on your left.

From the Timaru Bus Interchange, take bus route 1 heading towards Parkside. This bus will take you along the Main South Road. Get off at the Parkside stop, which is near the intersection of Main South Road and Craigie Avenue. From there, walk down Craigie Avenue for about 300 meters, and you will see Sacred Heart Basilica at 7 Craigie Avenue on your right.
