Getting There

    If you are starting from the Whanganui Riverbank, head north along the riverwalk until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue. At this point, turn left onto Victoria Avenue and continue walking until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with Dublin Street. Cross Dublin Street and continue straight along Victoria Avenue. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the base of Durie Hill. Look for the entrance to the Durie Hill Steps, which is located on Unnamed Road. The steps are well marked and will take you up to the top for stunning views of Whanganui.

  • Public Transport

    From Whanganui City Centre, catch the local bus that heads towards Durie Hill. The bus stop is located near the Sarjeant Gallery on Taupo Quay.
