Walking
If you are starting from the Whanganui Riverbank, head north along the riverwalk until you reach the intersection with Victoria Avenue. At this point, turn left onto Victoria Avenue and continue walking until you reach the traffic lights at the intersection with Dublin Street. Cross Dublin Street and continue straight along Victoria Avenue. After approximately 15 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the base of Durie Hill. Look for the entrance to the Durie Hill Steps, which is located on Unnamed Road. The steps are well marked and will take you up to the top for stunning views of Whanganui.

Public Transport
From Whanganui City Centre, catch the local bus that heads towards Durie Hill. The bus stop is located near the Sarjeant Gallery on Taupo Quay. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Durie Hill. Once you get off the bus, walk towards Unnamed Road, where you will find the entrance to the Durie Hill Steps. Follow the signs to reach the steps.

Cycling
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike hire shops in Whanganui. Start at the Whanganui River and cycle north along the riverbank toward Victoria Avenue. Once you reach Victoria Avenue, turn left and cycle for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the traffic lights at Dublin Street. From there, turn right and follow the road signs to Durie Hill. Upon arriving, lock your bike at the designated bike rack near the steps and enjoy your climb.
