Start at the Whangarei Town Basin, a central location in Whangarei. Head towards Hatea Drive and continue walking along the scenic waterfront. Follow the path until you reach the intersection with Dent Street. Turn left onto Dent Street and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Maunu Road. Cross Maunu Road and keep walking straight, which will lead you into the suburb of Maunu.

Continue on Maunu Road until you reach the intersection with State Highway 1 (SH1). Be cautious as this is a busy road. Once at SH1, turn right and walk along the shoulder of the road for a short distance until you see the Te Kamo Road exit. Take the exit towards Te Kamo.

Follow Te Kamo Road, which will lead you into the residential area of Te Kamo. Keep an eye out for Amalin Drive on your right. Turn onto Amalin Drive and continue walking until you reach number 51, where the entrance to the Pukenui Forest Loop Track is located.
