Car
From Apoyo Lagoon, head north towards Granada. Follow the main road (Carretera a Granada) for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the intersection at the Pan-American Highway (Carretera Panamericana). Turn left onto the Pan-American Highway and continue for about 6 kilometers. Look for the signs directing you to Reserva Natural Volcán Mombacho. Turn right onto the road leading to the reserve, and follow it for about 5 kilometers until you arrive at the entrance.

From Apoyo Lagoon, you can take a local bus to Granada. Board a bus heading to Granada at the nearest bus stop. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes and costs around 25 NIO (Nicaraguan Córdoba). Once you arrive in Granada, head to the main bus terminal and find a bus heading towards the Mombacho Volcano. This bus will take you closer to the entrance of the reserve, and the fare is typically around 20 NIO. After getting off, follow the signs to the reserve entrance, which is about a 1 km walk.
