Walking
If you are starting from the city center (e.g., Area 1), head towards the Abuja Central Business District. From there, walk along the Shehu Shagari Way until you reach the junction with the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road. Turn left onto Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road. Continue walking straight on this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will see the Abuja City Gate on your right side. It is a large, impressive monument, and the area around it is suitable for exploration.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bike from a local rental service in the city. Start from the city center and head towards Shehu Shagari Way. Turn left onto Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road. Follow this road for about 2 kilometers. The Abuja City Gate will be on your right. Ensure you follow local traffic rules and ride safely.
Public Transport (Bus)
To get to Abuja City Gate using public transport, find a local bus that travels along the route to the Central Business District. Once you reach the Central Business District, get off and look for a bus heading towards the Nyanya area which stops at Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road. Alight at the nearest bus stop to the City Gate, then walk approximately 500 meters along Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road. The City Gate will be on your right.
Motorcycle Taxi (Okada)
For a quicker route, you can hire a motorcycle taxi (locally known as Okada). Tell the rider you want to go to Abuja City Gate. They will take you directly to the gate via the best route available. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
