Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are at the Kano Central Market, head south towards the main road (Murtala Mohammed Way). Continue straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the exit for Emir Palace Road. Walk along Emir Palace Road for about 1.5 kilometers. You will pass by local shops and schools. The Gidan Makama Museum will be on your left side, adjacent to the Emir's Palace.

    Starting from the Kano Railway Station, exit the station and head southeast on Railway Road. Continue until you reach the junction with Murtala Mohammed Way. Turn right on Murtala Mohammed Way and ride straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the exit onto Emir Palace Road. Cycle along Emir Palace Road for about 1.5 kilometers. Gidan Makama Museum will be on your left, just before the Emir's Palace.
