If you are located in the Kano city center, start at the Gidan Makama Museum. From there, head southeast on Ado Bayero Road toward Kofar Mata. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach Kofar Mata. You will see signs directing you toward the dye pits. The dye pits are located on your left side, and you can easily spot the vibrant colors of the cloth being dyed.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Kano. Start your journey from the Kano Emir's Palace, heading south on Kofar Mata Road. Continue straight for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass several local markets and shops. After about 10 minutes of cycling, look for signs indicating the Kofar Mata Dye Pits on your right. The entrance will be visible as you approach.

To reach Kofar Mata Dye Pits using public transport, find a bus or motorcycle taxi heading toward Kofar Mata from the Kano city center. You can catch a motorcycle taxi near the Murtala Muhammed Way. When you board, inform the driver that you want to go to Kofar Mata Dye Pits. The ride typically takes about 15-20 minutes. After reaching Kofar Mata, you can walk the remaining distance to the dye pits, which are located near the main road.
