Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the center of Burnt Pine, near the Norfolk Island Central School. Head south on the main road, Taylors Road, which will lead you out of the town. Continue walking for approximately 1.5 kilometers. You will come to a junction where Taylors Road intersects with Mount Pitt Road. Turn right onto Mount Pitt Road. The walk from Burnt Pine to this junction will take about 20-30 minutes depending on your pace. After turning onto Mount Pitt Road, continue for another 1 kilometer. Mount Pitt Lookout will be on your left. The lookout is well signposted, and you will be greeted by stunning views of the island. Make sure to take your time enjoying the scenery along the way!

    If you have a bicycle, starting from the center of Burnt Pine, head south along Taylors Road. Continue for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a junction with Mount Pitt Road. Turn right onto Mount Pitt Road. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes. As you cycle up Mount Pitt Road, you will see the lookout on your left after approximately 1 kilometer.
