Walking
From the center of Boone, head southeast on W King St toward S Water St. Continue on W King St for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-221 S. Turn left onto US-221 S and continue for approximately 4 miles. After passing through Blowing Rock, look for a sign for Bass Lake Dr on your right. Turn right onto Bass Lake Dr, and you will find the entrance to Bass Lake Trail at the end of this road.

Starting from the Appalachian State University campus, head south on Rivers St toward W King St. Turn right onto W King St and continue for about 0.5 miles. Merge onto US-221 S and follow it for 4 miles. Watch for the sign for Bass Lake Dr on your right. Turn right and ride along Bass Lake Dr until you reach the trail entrance at the end of the road.

Public Transit
Take the Appalachian State University shuttle (check the schedule for the next bus) from the campus to Blowing Rock. Get off at the nearest stop to the US-221 S intersection. From there, walk south along US-221 S for about a mile until you see Bass Lake Dr on your right. Turn onto Bass Lake Dr and proceed until you reach the entrance to Bass Lake Trail.
