Getting There

  • Public Bus

    Start at the Boone Town Hall located at 567 W King St, Boone, NC 28607. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop on W King St. Take the AppalCart bus route that heads towards Newland. You will need to stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Linville Falls Visitor Center. After exiting the bus, walk approximately 0.5 miles down Warrior Ln until you reach the Visitor Center. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for the most accurate departure times.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bicycle from a local shop in Boone, such as the Boone Bike and Hike located at 201 S Water St, Boone, NC 28607. From the shop, head east on E King St until you reach US-221 N. Follow US-221 N for about 10 miles. When you reach the junction with Warrior Ln, turn right and continue for another 2 miles until you arrive at the Linville Falls Visitor Center. Be cautious of traffic and use bike lanes where available.

    If you enjoy hiking, you can walk to the Linville Falls Visitor Center. Starting from the center of Boone at the intersection of W King St and S Water St, take W King St to the US-221 N. It is about a 12-mile walk, so be prepared for a long trek. Follow US-221 N to Newland, and then take a left onto Warrior Ln. Continue walking for about 2 miles until you reach the Visitor Center. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring plenty of water.
