Stay on the train until you reach the 'University City' station. From there, transfer to the CATS Bus Route 77 (the 'North Tryon' route) at the nearby bus stop. Ride the bus towards 'Huntersville' and get off at the 'Sample Road' stop. Walk approximately 0.5 miles along Sample Road until you reach the entrance of Latta Nature Preserve.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program. Start at the 'Romare Bearden Park' in downtown Charlotte. Follow the bike path along the Charlotte Rail Trail heading north until you reach the 'I-277' overpass. Cross under 'I-277' and continue north on 'North Tryon Street'. After approximately 6 miles, turn right onto 'Sample Road', following the signs for Latta Nature Preserve. Continue on Sample Road for another mile to reach the preserve's entrance.

Walk along Sample Road for about 1 mile, and you will arrive at the entrance to Latta Nature Preserve.
