From downtown Hickory, walk to the nearest bus stop at the intersection of 1st Avenue NW and Main Avenue NW. Take the Catawba Valley Transit Authority (CVTA) bus route towards Morganton. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of US-70 and NC-126. From there, it's a 15-minute walk: head southwest on NC-126 for approximately 1 mile until you reach the Hidden Cove Boat Ramp at 3657 NC-126.

Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Hickory. Start at the Hickory City Park and head northeast on South Center Street, then take a left onto US-70 E. Continue for about 3 miles until you reach the intersection with NC-126. Turn right onto NC-126 and ride for approximately 1 mile to reach the Hidden Cove Boat Ramp. Be sure to use bike lanes where available and follow traffic rules.

If you're feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start from downtown Hickory. Head northwest on 1st Avenue NW towards Main Avenue NW, then turn right onto Main Avenue NW. Continue straight to merge onto US-70 E. Walk along US-70 for about 3 miles while taking care of traffic. When you reach NC-126, turn right and walk for another mile until you find the Hidden Cove Boat Ramp on your left at 3657 NC-126.
