If you're driving, start your journey in Geiranger. Head southeast on Route 63 towards Eidsdal. Continue on Route 63 for approximately 14 kilometers. When you reach the junction, follow the signs for Stranda, taking the right fork onto Route 60. Continue on Route 60 for about 34 kilometers until you reach Stranda. From Stranda, take a left onto Gjerdefossen Road (signs will direct you towards the waterfall). The waterfall is located about 5 kilometers up this road. There is ample parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start at the Geiranger bus stop and take a bus to Stranda. Bus services are available through Nor-Way Bussekspress. Check the schedule for the latest timings as they may vary by season. Once in Stranda, you can either take a taxi or see if local transport is available to Gjerdefossen Road. The taxi ride from Stranda to Gjerdefossen takes about 10-15 minutes and will incur a fare, typically around 200-300 NOK, depending on the time of day.
