Getting There

Walking
From central Molde, start at the Molde Town Hall (Rådhuset). Head west towards the waterfront along Storgata. Once you reach the waterfront, take the path along the shore which will lead you to the Molde harbor. Continue walking along the harbor until you see the signs directing you towards the hiking trails. Follow the signs for 'Fjøsbakhytta' which will guide you up into the Mek area. The trail is well-marked and you will walk through beautiful nature. The hike will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Molde. Start from the city center and head towards the waterfront, cycling along the path by the shore. Follow the same route as walking until you reach the signs for the hiking trails towards Fjøsbakhytta. The bike ride will take you to the base of the trails, but remember that you will need to leave your bike at the designated bike parking area before starting your hike to the cabin.

Take bus line 100 from the Molde bus station towards 'Mek'. The bus will take you closer to the starting point of the hiking trail. Get off at the 'Mek' stop. From there, follow the marked hiking signs towards Fjøsbakhytta. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes, and the hike from the bus stop to the cabin will take around 1 to 1.5 hours.
