Car
If you are driving to Breakwater Beach, start from the center of Geneva-on-the-Lake. Head east on Lake Road (Route 531). Continue on Lake Road for approximately 2 miles until you reach the intersection with East Main Street. Turn left onto East Main Street, and after about 0.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Breakwater Beach on your right. There is free parking available near the beach.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take the Ashtabula County Transit bus from the nearby city of Ashtabula. Board the bus heading towards Geneva-on-the-Lake. Once you arrive at the Geneva-on-the-Lake stop, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile east along Lake Road to reach Breakwater Beach. Please check the bus schedule in advance for the latest times, and be aware that there may be a fare of around $2 for the ride.
Bicycle
Cycling is also a great way to reach Breakwater Beach. If you are in Geneva-on-the-Lake, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Start by heading east on Lake Road (Route 531). The ride is approximately 2 miles and takes you directly to the beach area, where you can lock your bike at the provided racks. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow all traffic regulations.
Walking
If you are close to Breakwater Beach, walking is a pleasant option. From the main strip in Geneva-on-the-Lake, head east on Lake Road for approximately 2 miles. The beach will be on your right. It’s a scenic route, so be sure to take your time and enjoy the views of Lake Erie along the way.
