Getting There

Car
If you are driving to Mt Thielsen, start by navigating to Highway 97. From the north, take the exit toward OR-138 E in Klamath Falls. Follow OR-138 E for approximately 40 miles until you reach the junction with OR-230. Turn left onto OR-230 and follow it to the junction with OR-62. Take OR-62 N toward Crater Lake. After about 15 miles, you will see signs for Mt Thielsen Trailhead. Turn onto the road leading to the trailhead parking area. Note that parking is free, but fill up your gas tank before heading into remote areas as services are limited.

If you prefer public transportation, take a Greyhound bus to Klamath Falls. From Klamath Falls, use a local taxi service or rideshare app to reach the junction of OR-138 E and Highway 97. From there, you can rent a car at a local rental service or arrange for a shuttle service to take you directly to the Mt Thielsen Trailhead. Be aware that public transport options may not operate frequently, so plan your trip accordingly.
