If you are driving from Portland, take I-84 E towards The Dalles. Take exit 44 for Cascade Locks. After exiting, turn left onto Cascade Locks Highway (also known as WA-35 S). Continue on this road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the Wahclella Falls Trailhead parking area on your left. Please note that parking can fill up quickly, especially on weekends, so plan to arrive early. There is no parking fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Wahclella Falls by public transport, take the Columbia Gorge Express bus from Portland to Cascade Locks. The bus operates several times a day but check the schedule for exact times. Upon arriving in Cascade Locks, you will need to walk about 1.5 miles to reach the Wahclella Falls Trailhead. Follow the Cascade Locks Highway (WA-35 S) heading south until you see the trailhead parking area on your left. Make sure to check the bus return schedule to ensure you have a way back.

For those who prefer to bike, you can cycle along the Historic Columbia River Highway. Start from the nearest town, Hood River or Cascade Locks, and follow the scenic route towards Wahclella Falls. The ride is approximately 5 miles from Cascade Locks, and you'll enjoy beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring plenty of water. There are no bike rental services directly at the trailhead, so plan accordingly.
