Getting There

• Car

  If you're starting from the town of John Day, head south on US-395 S for about 20 miles. Then, take a left onto OR-26 E and continue for approximately 19 miles. Watch for signs directing you to the Geiser Oregon Town Site. Once you reach the area, you may need to park along the roadside, as the site is primarily accessible by foot.

  From the city of Canyon City, take OR-395 N to the junction with OR-26 E. Turn left onto OR-26 E and drive for about 22 miles. Follow the signs for Geiser Oregon Town Site. There will be some roadside parking available once you arrive at the site.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, public transportation options directly to the Geiser Oregon Town Site are limited. You could take a Greyhound or local bus to John Day and then arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance to the site, which is about 20 miles away.
