Car
To reach Pumice Castle by car, start from Medford, Oregon. Head east on I-62 E toward Crater Lake. Continue for about 60 miles until you reach the junction with OR-61. Take the exit for OR-61 N toward Crater Lake. Follow OR-61 for approximately 10 miles until you reach the entrance to Crater Lake National Park. Once inside the park, follow the signs for Rim Drive. Pumice Castle is located along the Rim Drive, approximately 4 miles from the entrance, and is marked by a parking area. There are no entrance fees for the park, but check for any seasonal access restrictions.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take the Rogue Valley Transportation District bus from Medford to the nearest bus stop serving Crater Lake. This may include a bus transfer in Klamath Falls. Once you arrive at the Crater Lake National Park area, you will need to arrange for a shuttle or taxi service to reach Pumice Castle, as public transportation does not cover the park interior. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary based on season and demand.
