Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Naran, start walking towards the main road (Naran-Balakot Road). Head south and follow the road signs that indicate the route to Balakot. This is approximately a 15 km walk. Be sure to stay on the left side of the road for safety.

  • Bus

    Walk to the Naran bus stand, which is located near the main market. Look for a bus heading to Balakot. The buses usually leave every hour or so, and the journey typically takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Balakot, you will be closer to Kaghan Valley.

  • Shared Van

    At the Naran bus stand, you can also find shared vans (also known as 'Hiace' vans) that travel to Balakot. These vans are a quicker option, usually taking around 45 minutes to reach Balakot. Make sure to confirm the fare and the destination before boarding.

  • Hiking

    For adventurous travelers, consider hiking from Naran to Kaghan Valley. Start from the north end of Naran and follow the river bank towards Balakot. This route is scenic but requires a good level of fitness, as it is approximately 18 km and can take several hours to complete.
