Car
If you are driving, start from Lae city, the capital of Morobe Province. Take the Highlands Highway (also known as the Lae-Nadzab Road) heading towards Nadzab Airport. Continue on this highway for about 45 minutes until you reach the junction for the Markham Valley. Turn right at the junction and follow the signs towards the Markham Valley. After approximately 30 minutes, you’ll reach the Barim Village area. The Sau Tourist Resort is located within Barim Village. Look for signage to guide you to the resort, which is situated off the main road.

Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a bus or a PMV (Public Motor Vehicle) from Lae city to Nadzab Airport. Buses frequently depart from the main bus station. Once at Nadzab, you will need to transfer to a PMV heading towards the Markham Valley. Inform the driver that you are heading to Barim Village; they will help direct you. The fare from Lae to Nadzab is usually around 5-10 PGK, and from Nadzab to Barim Village, it may cost about 10-15 PGK. Upon arrival in Barim Village, you can walk or ask locals for directions to the Sau Tourist Resort.

Alternatively, you can hire a taxi from Lae city directly to the Sau Tourist Resort. This is a more convenient option but also more expensive. The taxi fare could range from 150 to 250 PGK depending on the distance and negotiation with the driver. Ensure to arrange for the taxi to wait for you or have a plan for your return to Lae.
