Walking
From the center of Mount Hagen, head towards the main market area. Once you reach the market, ask locals for directions to the nearest bus stop that serves Upper Mendi. The locals are very friendly and willing to help. Take a bus to Upper Mendi; the journey should take about an hour. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver that they will drop you near Lake Pipiyaka. Once you arrive in Upper Mendi, ask for directions to the lake, as it is a well-known location in the area. You may need to walk a bit, so be prepared for a short hike. Follow the signs or local guidance until you reach Lake Pipiyaka.
