Walking
From the center of Mount Hagen, head towards the main market area. Once you reach the market, ask locals for directions to the nearest bus stop that serves Upper Mendi. The locals are very friendly and willing to help. Take a bus to Upper Mendi; the journey should take about an hour. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver that they will drop you near Lake Pipiyaka. Once you arrive in Upper Mendi, ask for directions to the lake, as it is a well-known location in the area. You may need to walk a bit, so be prepared for a short hike. Follow the signs or local guidance until you reach Lake Pipiyaka.

Hiking
If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can start your journey from Mount Hagen and hike towards Lake Pipiyaka. Make sure to carry enough water and snacks. Begin your hike by following the main road leading out of Mount Hagen towards the south. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see a path on your right leading into the forest. Follow this path, which will take you through beautiful landscapes and local villages. Keep an eye on the signs indicating the direction to Lake Pipiyaka, or ask villagers along the way for help. The hike may take several hours, so be sure to wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for changes in weather.
